My social studdies teacher is doing a project called “Reach For Change”. Students at Elm Place Middle School are engaged in a project to bring about change in the Gennoside in Sudan. We are hoping to cut out 400,000 decorated paper dolls. These dolls represent the 400,000+ lives lost due to the genocide taking place in Sudan. The dolls will be sent to Senator Barack Obama in hopes of demonstrating to him our belief
that something needs to be done to stop this atrocity. Oftentimes when we hear about such horrors in the world, we do not know what to do. Here is your chance to make a real difference. Please join us in helping by:
* Going to http://www.nssd112.org/elmplace/teachers/Levi/Levi.htm to get a copy of the dolls.
* Print a copy out and color a doll, make a cool design on it, or put faces
on them to show that you care.
* Get the word out by telling your friends, family, or anybody you know. Just
get the word out it doesnt matter how you do it.
Our plan is to have 400,000 dolls by June of 2008. We know this is a lofty goal, but if we all join together we can achieve it. Please help us as we REACH FOR CHANGE in Sudan. If you would like more information about this project, please e-mail Mrs. Levi at clevi@nssd112.org, or call her at 847.432.9217 ext. 223.
People say Gennoside after Gennoside “Never again will this happen” but why does it keep happening. Because no one is doing something about it to stop it from happening again. Nows your chance to help stop it.
